Since 2009, Walter Hotz has focused his practice exclusively on litigating with County Boards of Tax Assessors on assessed real property values. Although his focus has been in DeKalb, Fulton and Gwinnett counties, his services are available throughout the state of Georgia. Walter has been successful at every level; in negotiating settlements, at Board of Equalization hearings, before Hearing Officers, and in trial in the Superior Courts.
His commercial clients run the gamut from small to large and from simple to complex. A sampling of his client’s property would be: unimproved lots, small office buildings, dental/medical offices, retail shops, strip malls, shopping centers, apartment complexes, industrial complexes and warehouses. His client’s properties range from a small retail store having approximately 4,000 square feet to a property having more than 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space.
Walter was formerly a lead national trial attorney for General Electric for 25 years. However today, he focuses his legal skills towards one goal – getting your real property ad valorem taxes lowered.
